WHAT IS MENTAL TRAINING?

An untrained mind leads to stress, worry, and decreased performance...

DEFAULT MINDSET

  • Research shows our mind wanders around 50% of the time, either thinking about the past, or the future

  • Our default mode is a ruminating unfocused mind full of worry, anxiety, and not very aware

  • Unhappy, unproductive, and decreased performance

OPTIMIZED MINDSET

  • When we are fully immersed in the present moment we are more likely to tap into flow

  • This is where we have peak experiences; we perform at our best, and we feel at our best

  • Happiness, productivity, focus, and performance is increased

Flow Performance mental training is designed to improve performance and well-being. Working together we can provide the resources to help you and your team:

Marek starts from a simple premise: performance breaks down between the ears before it breaks down anywhere else. His own experience as a footballer made that clear early — and it's shaped everything since.

Over his career, Marek has worked with individual athletes, teams, and organizations across sport and professional performance. His client list includes CFL champions, Olympians, Paralympians, Brier champions, Special Olympics Team Canada, amongst others. Most notably, he served as Mental Performance Coach for Team Canada Women's Sitting Volleyball, contributing to the team's silver medal finish at the 2022 World Championships in Bosnia.

Marek is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® with the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). His educational background includes a Kinesiology degree specializing in Sports Performance from the University of Alberta, a Master of Medical Science specializing in Sport Psychology from Lund University (Sweden), and a Master of Sport Science in Diagnostics and Intervention from Leipzig University (Germany).

He also serves as a Career Coach at the University of Alberta, where he works with students and professionals navigating transition — applying the same mental performance principles to identity, resilience, and direction in a changing world.

Outside of work, he is a father of two.
